It was another bumper round of Youth Girls football in the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL).

Here is our weekend wrap:

Beaumaris earned their first win of the season with a 27-point over East Brighton, who too have only one win this season. The win was made even more impressive given it was away from home, with the Sharks inaccurate scoreline perhaps the only cause for concern.

The headline result of the round was the 122-point victory for Prahran over Bentleigh, with Abbie McKay bagging six goals in the win. The result leaves Bentleigh still searching for their first win of the season.

In the final match of the round, Brighton Beach produced a scalp knocking off table-topping St Bedes/Mentone by nine points to move up to third. Strangely, all the scoring was done in the first three quarters, with both teams scoreless in the final term as Brighton Beach held on for the win.

Results:

East Brighton Vampires 1.3.9 def by. Beaumaris 4.12.36

Bentleigh 0.1.1 def by. Prahran 17.21.123

St Bedes/Mentone 3.6.24 def by. Brighton Beach 4.9.33

Bye – St Peters
