It was another bumper round of Youth Girls football in the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL).

Here is our weekend wrap:

St Bedes/Mentone continued their flawless start to the season, with yet another win this time over St Peters, their fifth from as many games. The win was made even more impressive given the ladder leaders trailed by a point at the final break, keeping St Peters scoreless and scoring three goals of their own in the final quarter to run away with victory.

Prahran continued their good form of late, defeating the East Brighton Vampires by 28-points despite an inaccurate scoreline.

In the final fixture, Brighton Beach ensured Beaumaris’ winless start to the season continued with a 20-point victory, keeping the Sharls goalless for the entire match. In a strange old game, both teams were held goalless for the first-half, with the ‘flood gates’ opening for the Roos after the main break.

Results:

St Bedes/Mentone 8.2.50 def. St Peters 4.8.32

Prahran 5.10.40 def. East Brighton Vampires 2.0.12

Brighton Beach 3.7.25 def. Beaumaris 0.5.5
