Another great weekend of football has gone by in the McDonalds Under 17 divisions.
Ormond got the better of Cheltenham by 35 points. The Panthers were off the pace from the first bounce, just lacking the class to stay with Ormond.
Murrumbeena defeated South Melbourne after terrific second and third quarters. Dylan Goodwill had a terrific game for Beena leading the way with four majors while Jarryd Raffa bagged three of his own.
South Melbourne was competitive all day but lapses is what ultimately cost them a chance in the end.
Beaumaris were too good for Mordialloc defeating them by 20 points despite a goalless first quarter. The Sharks didn’t start well but held Mordi scoreless in the second term to help bring them back into the game.
Beauy proved to be too strong throughout the second half. Matt Wetering was Mordi’s best forward again kicking two, while Kai Owens slotted three for the Sharks.
Hampton were to good for East Malvern from start to finish kicking away by 31 points in the end.
Ajax defeated St Paul’s by 15 points off the back of a five goal to one last quarter after trailing for most of the day.
St Bedes got over St Peter’s by 51 points in a comfortable win; St Bedes were too good from the very first bounce.
Just like Division 2 St Bedes, were too strong over the four quarters for their opponents, this time getting the better of Waverley Park by 47 points.
Meanwhile Dingley beat Beaumaris by just 14 points. The Dingoes were scoreless in the second half but manage to just hold on, a game the Sharks will feel they should’ve won after a great defensive second half effort.
Cheltenham defeated Ormond by two goals after a very dominant second half where the Panthers ran over the top of Ormond.
