The South Metro Junior Football League’s (SMJFL) Under 15 Division 1B Interleague outfit have gone down to Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) in the AFL Victoria Junior Metro Championships by 42-points.

It was a scoreline that didn’t reflect the competitiveness of the contest, with both sides putting on a terrific contest at Vermont Reserve.

The South Metro Stars rallied late in the final quarter, reducing YJFL’s lead to under two goals before the opposition powered on to a comfortable victory with a late flurry of goals.

The SMJFL congratulates all the players, coaches and staff of the Under 15 Division 1B team on an outstanding campaign.

Attention now turns to next Saturday at Warrawee Reserve in Oakleigh, with both our Under 14 Interleague sides in Grand Final action.
