On Sunday 17 August 2014 at Trevor Barker Oval, the top Sharks were pitted against the Vampires in the Grand Final.

After the Vampires claimed victory against second-placed East Malvern Blue in a low-scoring semi-final scrap, they were ready to for the challenge of the polished Sharks.

The Sharks cruised through the first quarter in style, with the Vampires unable to register a score. Playing in front and with speed, the Sharks were able to quickly hit the scoreboard.

In the second, the Vampires found their footing, managing to break through the Sharks’ defense and score 3.1 to the Sharks’ 1.1. However still down by 14 points, the East Brighton side were going to have to pick up their pace to get in front of the great start by the Sharks.

After the half-time break, neither side was able to register a significant score down at the goal line, with both sides missing set shots and the ball changing sides regularly in the quarter.

With the Vampires still down by 13 points, all the pressure was on the final quarter for the side to get in front and win the match.

In the final, the Vampires managed to score another goal, with a strong performance. However they weren’t able to beat the Beaumaris side, who held on in the end to win by seven points.

Nicholas Burke was voted best on ground for the match, with Kyle Yorke, Riley Virtue kicking two and Kai Corella scoring another goal for the match.
