In their first finals appearance for these young under 11s in junior football, the Mustangs were facing off against the Bentleigh Demons. After two impressive performances in the semi-finals, the third and fourth team respectively were facing off for their chance in the Grand Final.

The first quarter saw the Mustangs facing a 12-point deficit. With the Demons able to score two goals to no score from the Mustangs. The Mordialloc-Braeside team needed to hold steady for the next quarter to ensure a competitive margin.

Fortunately the Mustangs reduced the Demons to only scoring one minor. Being only 13 points down at half-time, it was a margin the Mustangs could overcome. However Mordialloc were still only on 0 and needed to register a score.

After the main break, the Mustangs were still able to put the pressure on the Demons. Despite Bentleigh being able to kick another goal, there was still a chance for Mordialloc. They had finally been able to see a score down at the goal line. But with a 18 point difference, the final quarter was going to be a challenge.

For the final term, the Demons managed to really lift to seal their victory. A score of 3.2 ensured the team from Bentleigh earned their first victory. The Mordialloc side, despite the pressure they were able to put on the game, never was able to covert opportunities into goals. The Mustangs went down by 32 points.

Final score:
Mordialloc Braeside: 1.1.7 defeated by Bentleigh Red: 6.3.39
