Since late February interleague players have been training hard  in the lead up to the AFL Victoria Metro Junior Championships, which kick off this week. The first games  for the Under 14s, Under 15s and Under 16 Youth Girls   are  being played on  Wednesday night   which  will see many high quality  footballers lace up their boots and represent the league.

Find the fixture for all the games being played at SMJFL home grounds below.

In a great move by AFL Vic and wholly backed by the SMJFL, each age groups Division 1 and Division 2 teams will now play at the same venue each round. This is a refreshing change to the fixture that will allow team mates and supporters the ability to watch two games back to back of the same age group. No doubt this will create an electric atmosphere for the Round 1, 2 & 3 matches.

SMJFL encourage you to attend our home games to support the selected players from your local team and to see the up-and-commers of the SMJFL.

The AFL Vic Metro Junior Championships is a round robin format in which the Under 14 and Under 15 ages groups will play Yarra Junior Football  League, Essendon District Football  League, and the Eastern Football League.

Our Youth Girls Under 16 team will play South East Junior Football League and two teams from Yarra Junior Football League.

The Under 13 Carnival is held on Sunday 7th June and hosted by the Yarra Junior Football League.

If successful, Grand Finals for the Under 15s and Under 16 Youth Girls will be played on Saturday 20th June, and the Under 14s on Saturday 27th June. The final will be hosted by the league that finishes on the top of Division 1 ladder after Round 3.

Look forward to seeing you at  the boundary fence!
