St Peters FC’s Under 16 player Eliza James reached a major milestone on in Round 6 when she played her 100th game. She didn’t slow down, as she celebrated in style by kicking two goals throughout the match.

In an incredible display of “Play Fair” and sportsmanship, St Peters’ opponents East Sandringham formed one side of a Guard of Honour for Eliza. Her own St Peters side took to the other side of the race, as Eliza prepared to run through her 100 game banner.

In addition to reaching this milestone, Eliza has already taken several leaps and bounds through her football career. She has been an SMJFL Interleague player for the past three years. In 2017 she was vice-captain of her team, and has been named the captain of her side this year. She is also an inclusion in the Under 15 Girls School Sport Victoria state team, scheduled to compete against other states representative sides in Adelaide later this year.

Her talents and passion for football certainly haven’t been missed.

“EJ is a very talented and tenacious player, who leads by example on the field and at training,” said SMJFL Interleague Academy Manager, David Sheridan.

“She has a promising future in AFLW, always showing a dedication to improvement.”

The SMJFL is proud to recongnise the sportsmanship shown by East Sandringham and would like to congratulate Eliza on her 100 games!
