The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) has enjoyed another successful AFL Draft for its former players, headlined by Hampton Rovers junior Andrew Brayshaw being selected at pick two and his brother Hamish, at pick 68.

Brother of Angus, there was some speculation Andrew could be taken as high as the first pick but ultimately was selected by Fremantle with the second pick in the national draft, while another Brayshaw in the form of Hamish is also headed west, picked at 68 by the West Coast Eagles.

Also to go in the first round was dynamic small forward/midfielder Jack Higgins, with the East Malvern and Ormond junior being selected by the reigning premiers in Richmond.

Sandringham Dragon trio Will Walker (23), Charlie Constable (36) and Nathan Murphy also featured prominently, with the latter two perhaps sliding further than predicted.
