The South Metro Junior Football League is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas Crook as the Media Coordinator and Olivia Clarke as the Media Assistant for the upcoming season.

Crook and Clarke will be charged with the editorial and administrative duties associated with the league’s website, social media account, e-newsletter and football record. In addition they are charged with formulating many of the league’s outgoing communications and will be club’s first point of contact should any club have media enquiries.

“SMJFL is delighted to appoint Nicholas and Olivia to their respective positions. They both bring to the organisation tertiary educations in journalism and they are both well versed in managing social media,” said McCauley. “With these appointments now finalised, SMJFL is well resourced to continue as the number 1 junior Australian Rules website in Australia, as well as assisting to develop and grow our followers on the SMJFL social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.”

The SMJFL was thrilled by the quality that had been displayed in the candidates’ previous experiences. Clarke, who has extensive experience dealing with social media and communications prior to commencing this role, will be completing her studies in journalism throughout the season at Monash University.

Crook comes to the SMJFL team fresh from VFL club the Box Hill Hawks, where he spent the premiership 2013 season as the team’s Media Coordinator.

“I am excited by the opportunity presented to me by Jake and everyone at the SMJFL,” said Crook. “I look forward to the expanding upon the league’s already pristine image and providing interesting content all year round.”

They will commence their roles immediately.
