The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) has celebrated its annual Presidents’ & Sponsors’ Dinner for 2017.

Hosted by Melbourne Football Club great Russell Robertson, the evening featured President or Committee representation from all 26 member clubs, with league partners and sponsors also in attendance.

Guests were treated to Peter Ryan’s final public address in his term as Chairman, a keynote address from AFL Victoria CEO Steven Reaper and a star-studded Q&A panel, featuring Reaper, outgoing St Kilda Chief Operating Officer Ameet Bains, ex-St Kilda & Collingwood star Luke Ball and Melbourne AFLW marquee player Mel Hickey.

A cheque for $25,120.89 was also presented to league charity partner the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation, with the money raised during the inaugural Connor’s Beanie Round in July. The league hopes to make this an annual event.

The league would like to thank all 26 member clubs, Presidents, Secretaries and Committee members for another successful season.

The 2018 season will officially kick off on the 15th of April.
