The SMJFL are thrilled to share that The Trybe are the league’s official naming rights sponsor for the 2024 Lightning Carnival Series.
The Trybe are a leading kid’s footwear store with 16 stores nationally, their closest store in the South Metro area is Westfield Southland, Westfield Fountain Gate, and Eastland Shopping Centre. The Trybe offer a range of school, style, and sport shoes from leading brands such as Clarks, Nike, Asics, Adidas and New Balance.
In February 2023, The SMJFL announced The Trybe as a multiyear partnership as the league’s Official Partner, and Exclusive Children’s Footwear provider.
SMJFL General Manager of Member and Business Services, Cameron Watts, said “We are delighted that The Trybe has become the official naming rights sponsor for the 2024 Lightning Carnival. We have achieved much collaborative success since commencing our partnership, and we hope The Trybe 2024 Lightning Carnival is our most exciting and thrilling yet.”
With a core focus on young kids aged 1 – 10 coming in store with Mum and Dad, the annual SMJFL Lightning Carnival will provide an opportunity to showcase the synergy between the two organisations with many players in the carnival donning The Trybe footwear.

As part of their partnership with the SMJFL, The Trybe will be hosting an inflatables activation at McKinnon Reserve on both the 11th & and 18th of August at Highett Reserve, Highett.
