The Oakleigh Chargers have won their second TAC Cup Grand Final after defeating the Eastern Rangers by 12 points at Ethiad Stadium on September 27. The Chargers are one of the SMJFL’s TAC affiliate clubs.
The Chargers won the Premiership after finishing the home and away season at 6th on the ladder to book their place in the Grand Final.
With a five-goal lead at the half-time break, things were looking good for the Chargers. The Rangers steadied with a five-goal third quarter in response. Thereby leaving the final term as a showdown.
In the end, the Chargers managed to hang on to their victory to seal their third premiership in four years.
Furthermore, Kade Answerth, former SMJFL player from the Caulfield Bears and Murrumbeena Lions picked up the Best On Ground Medal in the Chargers win! Congratulations Kade!
