The annual South Metro Junior Football League & AFL Victoria Presentation Night returns on Monday, 11 September and we’re calling on you to nominate your best clubmen and women for the following awards:

(Members must nominate through their club – who have access to the nomination form)

  • Monash University Leadership Award – Criteria

This award will honour and recognise a SMJFL player or umpire who demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities.

This award was inspired by the 2014 East Sandringham Under 14 Division 1 team who demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship by accepting a decision that affected their ability to win a Grand Final. The SMJFL Sportsmanship Award can be awarded to an individual player, playing group, team or club who best exemplifies the attributes of good character, integrity and sportsmanship. The demonstration of respect to officials and opposing team, even in the face of adverse outcomes.

This award will honour and recognise an exceptional volunteer or coach. A SMJFL volunteer who has demonstrated significant contribution or commitment in helping at a member club, team, special event, or program.

  • Club Volunteer Umpire of the Year – Criteria

SMJFL Clubs are invited to nominate one (1) Volunteer Club Umpire to be recognised for their significant contribution to the development of our youngest players. Their input does not go unnoticed and their efforts are appreciated in helping our participants establish what is hoped to be a long and enjoyable relationship with the SMJFL and Australian Rules football.

All nominations should be done in consultation with the criteria. Nominations close Monday 21 August.
