The South Metro Junior Football League is very pleased to announce the appointment of Brittany Shanahan to the role of SMJFL Media Coordinator.

Brittany will be taking over from Ben Pollard, who will be venturing overseas next year after having worked for the SMJFL in this role for two years. 

SMJFL General Manager Jake McCauley praised Ben’s ability to manage the SMJFL website, social media accounts and E-Newsletter throughout his tenure. 

“Ben has assisted the SMJFL in continuing to cement its place as the number one junior football website (3.24 million website hits per year) in Australia, while increasing the SMJFL’s ranking from 12th to 10th of any football (junior or senior) website in Australia,” McCauley said. 

“Additionally, Ben has built the SMJFL Facebook & Twitter accounts from scratch and currently there are a total of 1,424 Facebook and 249 Twitter followers. 

“Ben has a laid a fantastic foundation for the SMJFL to build on and his contribution has been greatly appreciated. The SMJFL wishes Ben well in his future endeavours.”

Our new media coordinator, Brittany has previously worked at Leader Newspaper and Inside Football as a Journalist. She also has extensive experience in media-based roles at Tennis Australia, Melbourne Stars, The Age and The Melbourne Vixens.   

Brittany has a strong background in sports journalism and social media, and will be a valued member of the SMJFL team.

Brittany started her role with the SMJFL on Monday November 3, 2013.
