The South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) is pleased to announce that Monash University has signed on a for a further two years as the league’s Major Sponsor.
Monash University has been a long-term supporter of the League, having signed on as its Major Sponsor and Official Tertiary Education Partner in 2016.
SMJFL Chief Executive Officer Sarah Loh said she was proud to announce Monash University’s continued sponsorship.
“I am delighted to have Monash University continue their sponsorship for a further two years,” said Ms Loh.
“This significant sponsorship is crucial for the League, especially in a year which has presented a number of challenges for the league and its member clubs.”
“I want to thank Monash University for their ongoing support and commitment to fostering the community through junior football in the region,” she said.

Monash University’s support has enabled the continuation the Monash University Leadership Recognition Program throughout the pandemic, which has recognised the outstanding leadership of kids in the League nominated by their member clubs.
The SMJFL and Monash University will further collaborate to establish the Monash University Equity Fund in 2021, dedicated to enabling young people from under-represented communities to participate in junior football.
The Monash University Leader of the Year Award was presented to Tommy Haydon from Prahran JFC.
Monash University spoke of the importance of supporting grassroots sport, particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In what has been a very difficult year for so many families, junior football remains a fantastic way for children to connect with their peers and make new friends. We look forward to a wonderful two years ahead with the League.”
Monash University will continue to feature on all SMJFL club guernseys and as the Major Sponsor of the SMJFL’s official match balls.
