It may be hard to believe, but we are now over half way through the 2014 home & away season.
This is an opportune time to communicate to our junior football community and remind everyone of their responsibilities at all junior football matches.
Modified Rules: On-field coaching
In the rounds leading up to the Queen’s Birthday weekend, each Under 8 & 9 team is permitted to have one nominated team official remain on the field of play. From Round 8 (14th/15th June) coaches are restricted to the Team Bench area.
Game day: Parent volunteer roles
Parent volunteers for match day roles are very important. Please remember that each volunteer position has its defined responsibilities. Please ensure you speak to your Team Manager who will have an outline of each role for you to peruse and understand.
NO SMOKING at SMJFL matches/venues
Under section 5RI(1) of the Tobacco Act 1987, smoking is banned within 10 metres (about two car lengths) of a sporting venue that is an outdoor public place during an organised underage sporting event in Victoria from 1 April 2014.

Match Day Behaviour – Something to remember
At the commencement of the 2014 season, the SMJFL Chairman, Roger Teale, sent an open message to the SMJFL community. It is timely to re-visit this message and bear it in mind when attending matches.
This message can be found on here.
