AFL Victoria has announced a special AFL Level One Female Coach Education Course due to popular demand.

When:   Saturday 27th June 2015 – 9:00AM – 4:00PM

(lunch and refreshments provided)

Where:   North Melbourne Football Club, 204-206 Arden St, North Melbourne

The introduction of a Female specific course follows the success of Women’s Level O Coaching Courses, which have been held across Melbourne this year to help gives mums in particular with the confidence to become more involved in their son or daughter’s football.

AFL Victoria Coaching Manager Steve Teakel said the AFL Level One Female Coach Education Course was created because of the demand from those who had completed the Level O course but wanted to learn more.

“We want to encourage more women to take up coaching roles and the Level 1 course is designed specifically for people who have had little coaching experience.”

“While we expect a number of the Level O graduates to attend, the course is open to everyone and we encourage any females who are thinking about, or wanting to, take a coaching role in junior football to attend.”

The Course at North Melbourne Football Club on Saturday June 27 will include sessions on teaching basic skills, how to plan for training sessions, game-sense and how to develop team play.

Once the course is completed, attendees will receive  AFL Level One Junior accreditation for four years, membership to the Australian Football Coaches Association and some handy AFL coaching resources to help them in their journey.

Thank you to AFL Victoria for this fantastic and empowering opportunity. Any questions or queries should be directed to  AFL Victoria
