Sarah Loh
Chief Executive Officer
 

Sarah has been in sport management for over 32 years in various roles. For 10 years, Sarah worked at 5 different Local Government Councils where she was responsible for sport and leisure. Previously, Sarah was also the Chief Executive Officer for two sporting organisations, Dragon Boat Victoria and Ice Hockey Victoria.

Sarah has been the Chief Executive Officer of the South Metro Junior Football League since August 2016. As the CEO, she oversees the operations and management of the league and liaises with key stakeholders including local Councils, Parks Victoria, AFL Victoria, clubs and corporate partnerships.

Sarah’s main goal for the league is to assist the clubs in becoming more sustainable and continue to grow participation.

 

 
Dominique Bebbington
Business Manager
 

Dom began at the SMJFL in 2018 as the Club Development & Events Coordinator, and has now taken on the position of Business Manager. Dom’s primary role is to support the league’s partners and sponsors and oversee the Business Department.

Dom has a long background in sports administration, having worked with Life Saving Victoria as Administration Coordinator, volunteering for Grouse Mountain in Canada, and spending five years at the State Sport Centres Trust (MSAC/SNHC/LS) prior to her time at the SMJFL.

Dom is experienced in Child Safety and has been integral in providing clubs with training, resources, researching funding opportunities, and supporting volunteer programs and strategic planning. Dom also created the league’s Club Development and Club Operations Manuals.

 

 
Ian Leach
Football Operations Manager
 

Ian started in 2017 with the SMJFL. Ian has a strong background and passion for community sport, including time with Cricket Associations, Clubs and Foundations in the UK and Australia and also as the Competitions and Events Coordinator at Touch Football Australia.

Ian oversees the competition, fixture and football operations including the talent pathway and Interleague.

 

 
Cameron Watts
Umpire & Operations Manager
 

Cam is the manager of the SMJFL Umpire Academy, the largest of its kind in Australia. Coordinating 724 paid umpires in 2019 over 3,500 games annually, the Academy has been a revolutionary feat in community sport.

Cam first began his umpiring career in the SMJFL in 2012, winning the award for Best First-Year Umpire. Cam also took home the coveted Golden Whistle Award in 2014. Cam was an SUA Senior Umpire from 2013 to 2015 and an SFNL Senior Umpire in 2016, and has been a VFL Field Umpire since 2017.

Cam aims to manage and administer the best junior football competition in the country, and provide the best possible support to all of the league’s participants.

 

 
Sarina Lococo
Health Promotion & Nutrition Manager
 

Sarina has a diverse background in sports nutrition. With experience as a Sports Dietitian for Essendon Football Club, the Australian Institute of Sport in Italy, Northern Blues Football Club, Wyndham City Council and Plenty Valley Community Health, as well as her current position at St Kilda Football Club in the women’s program, Sarina will now expand the SMJFL’s ground-breaking Healthy Club Canteens program.

Passionate about educating the community about health and nutrition, Sarina will implement the Healthy Club Canteens program in all 25 of the SMJFL’s clubs by mid-2021.

 

 
 

Luke Ewart
Business Administration Coordinator

 

 

Luke commenced his role with the SMJFL at the beginning of 2021. Having recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce/Sports Management at Deakin University and an internship with the AFL and other sporting clubs, Luke has a deep passion for all things sport and the sense of community it gives to those who participate.

Luke is responsible for the Administration of the Business Department, with a focus on Child Safety. COVID-Safety and club development.

 

 
 

 

Nick Ritchie

Football Administration Coordinator

 

 

 

Nick commenced his role at the SMJFL after completing his Certificate III in Sport & Recreation with SEDA College in 2020.  Nick is passionate about community sport and has a long history with the league, having first been a player, then an umpire, umpire coach and Umpire Coach Appointments Coordinator.

In 2018, Nick was the AFL SMJFL Golden Whistle winner and Monash University Leader of the Year. Nick has also previously interned alongside the Football Operations Department as the SMJFL Appointments Coordinator since 2019, and as the SMJFL Football Operations Intern in 2020.

 

 
Genevieve Thorpe
Marketing Coordinator
 

Genevieve is in her second year at the SMJFL and recently completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Monash University. Genevieve is responsible for managing the social media platforms and partner activations, as well as creating and coordinating the league’s media and publications.

Prior to her time at the SMJFL, Genevieve was heavily involved in Monash University’s MOJO News, completing two years in the editing leadership team with experience in television presenting, radio and print. Genevieve was also the VFLW Correspondent for Richmond Football Club in 2019.

Genevieve aspires to build the SMJFL’s digital platform audiences and provide clear communication to all of the league’s clubs and partners.

 

 
 

Jennifer de Graaff
Bookkeeper and Payroll Coordinator

 

Jennifer has been a bookkeeper for various corporate companies since 2006. In September 2020, Jennifer started her own bookkeeping firm before commencing her role with the SMJFL in early-2021.
