Sarah Loh
Chief Executive Officer

Sarah has been in sport management for over 32 years in various roles. For 10 years, Sarah worked at 5 different Local Government Councils where she was responsible for sport and leisure. Previously, Sarah was also the Chief Executive Officer for two sporting organisations, Dragon Boat Victoria and Ice Hockey Victoria.

Sarah has been the Chief Executive Officer since August 2016. As the CEO, she oversees the operations and management of the league. Sarah also oversees all key stakeholder relationships with Councils, the AFL, clubs and corporate partnerships.

Sarah’s main goal for the league in 2020 is to assist the clubs in becoming more sustainable and continue to grow participation.


Emily McIntyre
General Manager

Emily is the longest-serving staff member of the SMJFL, starting her position as Football Operations Manager in 2013. Prior to her time at the SMJFL, Emily has experience at Football Federation Victoria and in Competitions and Events at Hockey Victoria.

Now General Manager, Emily oversees the SMJFL Football Department, including grading, fixtures, discipline, the interleague program and the SMJFL Umpire Academy. Emily has recently taken on the management of the Events and Club Development aspects of the league.

Emily aims to continue to improve the league’s processes and procedures throughout 2020, and focus on how we can continue to make things easier for clubs.


Ian Leach
Football Operations Manager

Ian is currently in his third year at the SMJFL, and in his tenth year in community sport. Ian has a strong background in community sport, including time with Cricket Clubs and Foundations in the UK and Australia and Touch Football Australia.

Ian is the first point of contact for club officials for all competition, fixture and football operation enquiries and questions. Ian also provides administrative support to General Manager Emily McIntyre, and to all clubs of the SMJFL.


Dominique Bebbington
Business Manager

Dom began at the SMJFL in 2018 as the Club Development & Events Coordinator, and has now taken on the position of Business Manager. Dom’s primary role is to support the league’s partners and sponsors and oversee the the Business Department.

Dom has a long background in sports administration, having worked with Life Saving Victoria as Administration Coordinator, volunteering for Grouse Mountain in Canada, and spending five years at the State Sport Centres Trust (MSAC/SNHC/LS) prior to her time at the SMJFL.

Dom is experienced in Child Safety, and has been integral in providing clubs with training, resources, researching funding opportunities, and supporting volunteer programs and strategic planning. Dom has also created the league’s Club Development and Club Operations Manuals.


Cameron Watts
Umpire Academy Manager

Cam is the manager of the SMJFL Umpire Academy, the largest Umpire Academy in Australia. Coordinating 724 paid umpires in 2019 over 3,500 games annually, the SMJFL Umpire Academy has been a revolutionary feat in community sport.

Cam first began his umpiring career in the SMJFL in 2012, winning the award for Best First-Year Umpire. Cam also took home the coveted Golden Whistle Award in 2014. Cam also has experience as an SUA Senior Umpire from 2013 to 2015 and an SFNL Senior Umpire in 2016, and has been a VFL Field Umpire since 2017.

Cam aims to manage and administer the best junior football competition in the country, and provide the best possible support to all of the league’s participants.


Genevieve Thorpe
Marketing Coordinator

Genevieve is in her first year at the SMJFL and is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Monash University. Genevieve is responsible for managing the social media platforms and partner activations, as well as creating and coordinating the league’s media and publications.

Prior to her time at the SMJFL, Genevieve was heavily involved in MOJO News, completing two years in MOJO News’ editing leadership team with experience in television presenting, radio and print. Genevieve was also the VFLW Correspondent for Richmond Football Club in 2019.

Genevieve aspires to build the SMJFL’s digital platform audiences and provide clear communication to all of the league’s clubs and partners.

Health Promotion & Nutrition Manager

Sarina has a diverse background in sports nutrition. With experience as a Sports Dietitian for Essendon Football Club, the Australian Institute of Sport in Italy, Northern Blues Football Club, Wyndham City Council and Plenty Valley Community Health, as well as her current position at St Kilda Football Club in the women’s program, Sarina is well-equipped to expand the SMJFL’s groundbreaking Healthy Club Canteens program.

Passionate about educating the community about health and nutrition, Sarina aims to implement the Healthy Club Canteens program in all 25 of the SMJFL’s clubs by mid-2021.
