It is every kids dream to play under lights and for the juniors down at the Hampton Rovers Football Club, that dream is set to become a reality next Friday night.

The Rovers’ Under 12 Girls (points) and Under 13 Boys (practice match) are set to take on the Brighton Vampires and Sandy Zebras respectively under the lights at Boss James Reserve.

The two fixtures will be the first ever junior contests to be played under the floodlights at the ‘Boss’, in what is set to be a milestone evening for the club.

South Metro Football League (SMJFL) CEO Sarah Loh praised the efforts of the Rovers.

“The SMJFL congratulates the Hampton Rovers Football Club on what promises to be a terrific night for the club, one in which will live long in the memory of the lucky juniors set to take part,” she said.

“It’s another exciting initiative ahead of what promises to be a fantastic season, with 460 teams of boys and girls set to take to the field.”

The games will coincide with the club’s official season launch, with local councillors and AFL Womens stars in attendance, ‘DJ Brown’ pumping the tunes and plenty of activities for the kids.

The Under 13 Boys will also be unfurling their Premiership flag from last season, while 150 Auskick juniors will also get to take part in the festivities.

All the action kicks off from 4:30pm at Boss James Reserve.
