All SMJFL club players, members and supporters are urged to get behind the Big Freeze 2 beanie campaign to raise funds to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. This disease presently effects 2000 Australians by destroying nerve cells which in turn causes muscles to weaken and eventually die.

Organised by the not for profit Cure for MND Foundation the Big Freeze 2 official beanie promotion is part of the Big Freeze at the ‘G being held prior to the Melbourne v Collingwood game on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, Monday 13th June. As you may have witnessed last year, several well known footy personalities will be dunked into a giant ice pool to support the Freeze for MND challenge. This will help raise much needed funds.

The SMJFL community are encouraged to purchase the newly designed $20 blue beanie at the Cure for MND website, take a team photo and post it to the club website and/or social media. Be sure to tag #SMJFL and add the MND social media hashtags #FreezeMND and #WalkingWithNeale.
