Standout performances in the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships has earned former East-Brighton Vampires JFC star Andrew McGrath selection in the Under 18 All-Australian team.
The Vic Metro co-captain was picked on the half back flank after dominating in that position throughout the championships with his attacking run, drive and rebound.
McGrath, who has starred in the TAC Cup this year with the Sandringham Dragons, was also named the MVP for the Vic Metro team, which went through the championships undefeated.
One of McGrath’s most note-worthy performances came against Vic Country, where he helped his side seal a thrilling two-point victory with a scintillating final term.
McGrath has an elite athletics background as a hurdler, which is evident in his attacking run off half back and through the centre. He also possesses exceptional leadership qualities and looms as a possible first-round selection at November’s NAB AFL Draft.
Congratulations, Andrew!
