A touring party of East Malvern Knights juniors will travel to Far North Queensland this weekend to meet and play a game of football against the club’s Indigenous colleagues at Cape York.

The East Malvern boys will make the most of the mid-season bye and travel to Far North Queensland.

The club say the purpose of the trip is for their juniors to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the Indigenous culture and spend time with the Cape York boys, with Saturday’s match the highlight of the three-day trip.

The players will also take part in several Indigenous traditions and customs as part of their trip, including visits to Tjapukai, The Clontarf Foundation Academy and a leisure day out at Green Island.

The club hopes that this can becomes an annual event and foster an ongoing relationship between the East Malvern Knights and AFL Cape York House.
