Both current and former South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) stars will feature heavily in the respective Under 16 & 18 Vic Metro squads to take on Vic Country in a double-header this Saturday at Punt Road Oval.

As part of the 2017 NAB Championships, this Saturday’s contest will be the Under 18’s second match of the carnival after defeating Western Australia by 38-points in Perth over the weekend, while the Under 16’s will take to the field for the first time.

Many past SMJFL players make up the Under 18 squad while the Under 16’s are well represented by current players, with Chayce Black (Waverley Park), George Grey (Beaumaris), Miles Bergman (Hampton Rovers), Finn Maginness (East Brighton), Jacquin Misfud (Beaumaris), Jackson Hannah (East Malvern), Charlie Dean (South Melbourne), Kyle Yorke (Beaumaris), Andrew McCourtney (Beaumaris), Fischer McAsey (East Brighton) and Jack Bell (East Sandringham) making up the current crop.

Get down to Punt Road Oval this Saturday for what promises to be a fantastic day of football with the traditional Vic Metro v Vic Country head to head!
