Our club by club review of season 2017 in the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) continues with St Kilda City JFC next under the microscope.

  • Participation
  • Significant growth across all age groups in 2017 with the club fielding 19 teams in total, with that number forecasted to grow in 2018
  • For the first time, the club fielded an Under 14 Girls team alongside their two Under 12 teams, making for three girls teams in total
  • On The Field
  • Two teams in Grand Finals
  • One successfully winning a Premiership
  • Mason Szonyi (Under 12, Divison 3) and Sebastian Harris Knipe (Under 15, Division 3) taking out SMJFL League Best & Fairests
  • Numerous representatives representing the SMJFL in Interleague

  • Under 14 Division 1 team were victorious in the inaugural Dreamtime Shield against Prahran JFC, an initiative of Prahran and former Olympian Nova Peris to raise awareness around Indigenous issues at grassroots level of sport
  • Participation in the Junior Community Cup against South Melbourne Districts JFC
