The quality of our competitions often made the Umpire’s decision a tough one! Congratulations to the Top 3 placegetters who were recognised at Presentation Night, and well done to all players who received votes throughout the season.

If you missed the 2016 SMJFL Presentation Night presented by McDonald’s, held last night on September 8th you can now check out the Best and Fairest Top 10 Vote Count

Search Tip – to find a surname easily use the “Find” feature. On Windows  keyboard hold Ctrl and press ‘F‘ keys or on Apple hold Command ⌘ and press ‘F

Please Note – Any competitions that had teams move in or out (re-grading) at all throughout the season, votes have only be counted from Round 5 (regardless of when the regrading took place).

The awards evening which comprised of a session each for U11-13 and U14-18 age groups, saw players and volunteers being recognised for their achievements in junior footy. AFL Victoria’s Inner Southern Region was also part of the night, presenting Auskick Awards, Coaching Awards and special recognition awards including ‘Outstanding Contribution to Junior Football’. Keep a look out for the full wrap-up of all award recipients.

SMJFL’s Development Partner, McDonald’s, proudly sponsored the day, and helped to present the U15-17 Boys Best & Fairests, McDonald’s Volunteer of the Year Award and the McDonald’s Leadership Award.

Our Charity Partner, The Robert Connor Dawes Foundation‘s Executive Director – Liz Dawes was in attendance. She managed to take time out from her training for the Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year “Connor’s Run”, Dawes accepted the donation of $4,567.75 which was raised for the foundation by the SMJFL community during 2016 – most notably at the U8-10s Lightning Carnival.

Congratulations to all our award winners in 2016 and good luck to all our U17 players, many who were recognised as 10 Year players, and who have finished their last year of junior footy!

We hope all of our players, parents, volunteers and league partners enjoyed being a part of the SMJFL season and we look forward to seeing you in 2017!
