The day, which comprised of a session each for U11-13 and U14-17 age groups, saw players and volunteers being recognised for their achievements in junior footy. AFL Victoria’s Inner Southern Region was also part of the day, presenting Auskick Awards, Coaching Awards and special recognition awards including ‘Outstanding Contribution to Junior Football’.
SMJFL’s Development Partner, McDonald’s, proudly sponsored the day, and helped to present the U15-17 Best & Fairests, McDonald’s Volunteer of the Year Award and the inaugural McDonald’s Leadership Award. Our Charity Partner, The Robert Connor Dawes Foundation‘s Executive Director – Liz Dawes was in attendance. Straight from their biggest fundraiser of the year “Connor’s Run”, Dawes accepted the donation of $4,141.45 which was raised for the foundation by the SMJFL community during 2015.
Congratulations to all our award winners in 2015 and good luck to all our U17 players, many who were recognised as 10 Year players, and who have finished their last year of junior footy! We hope all of our players, parents, volunteers and league partners enjoyed being a part of the SMJFL season and we look forward to seeing you in 2016!
Please note: Unclaimed awards are currently at the SMJFL Office (Linton Street, Moorabbin). Please contact SMJFL Marketing & Administration Coordinator, Zoe Driver, at email@example.com to work out a time to pick up your unclaimed prize from the day.
