Five weeks into season 2017 of the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) and teams have certainly found their groove as we approach Interleague.

‘Twas a fine autumn’s day in Melbourne and we had the quality of football to match.

Here is the best of social media from Round 5:

Tonight’s After Match is one of the highlights of the season with Mark Dakin from @melbournepaellacompany cooking up a storm. The Under 13 age group will be hosting this week’s After Match with paella and hot dogs on the menu. Mark’s paella has been a hit for the past few seasons and is sure to be a hit again tonight. Also don’t forget the weekly prize draw for a Rebel Sports voucher (jack-potted to $100 this week) – remeber you have to be there to win! The bar and canteen will be open from 5.30pm, with reports for all teams beginning at 6.15pm. After Match is always a fun night and is a great opportunity to get to get to know the families of your child’s team, as well as other members of the club in a social environment. The children can have a kick of the footy with their mates under the lights whilst parents can enjoy socialising. Please note: the club will turn off the ground lights during the presentations and all players must return to the club rooms. No players are to remain on the ground whilst the lights are off.
