SMJFL Celebrates a Standout 2026 Season at the Annual Thank You Dinner

It was a night of reflection and celebration at Lamaro's Hotel on the 27th of August as the South Metro Junior Football League hosted our 2026 Thank You Dinner. Representatives from our clubs and partners were in attendance alongside SMJFL board members and staff to celebrate the conclusion of the 2026 home and away season.
Emceed by SMJFL Chairperson Brooke Hannaford, the evening recognised the contributions
of all in attendance to the success of the 2026 season.

As part of the event, we were privileged to host a Q&A with Mamuch Chuol, a representative of our charity partner, TeamSports4All. TeamSports4All supports kids to participate in sports by removing cost barriers and supporting families, and this year the SMJFL community raised more than $33,000 for the charity. Mamuch was TeamSports4All's very first participant, and spoke candidly about his experience and how TeamSports4All helped him to get to where he is now - a Founder, CEO, Non-Executive Director and Law/Arts student.
The evening also featured a reflection on the biggest moments and achievements of the 2026 season, including the season launch, the launch of the U8 Girls competition, Indigenous outreach, themed rounds, accredited media, umpiring academy and interleague.
Thank you to Lamaro's Hotel for hosting this fantastic event, and of course thank you to all of our club administrators, corporate partners, board members and staff who have made the 2026 SMJFL season a resounding success.
