The purpose of this memo is to remind clubs, regardless of any announcements by the Federal and State Government, formal training, practice matches and social functions are and will remain suspended until formally notified otherwise by the SMJFL.

The SMJFL is currently working on a framework based on advice from the AFL and the recently-released framework for resumption of community sport by the Australian Institute of Sport.

Although the community remains eager to resume football, it has never been more important to remain vigilant for the safety and wellbeing of our community. We thank clubs and their members for their ongoing patience and compliance during this time.

The SMJFL’s main priority remains the health and safety of all its members and staff and to ensure it is safe to return to play. In consideration of the next steps, the league is encouraging all its members to assist in reducing the risks posed to members of the community by downloading the CovidSafe and Coronavirus Australia apps as well as getting tested if showing any symptoms. Further details on these measures can be found here.

We thank you all for your continued support during these extraordinary times. The league will be in contact with clubs as soon as new information becomes available.
