Former SMJFL player Fischer McAsey has been named in the 2019 NAB AFL Under 18 All Australian team.

McAsey, who played with East Brighton Vampires from Under 10s right through to Under 16s, was named at centre half back in the side after standout performances for Vic Metro which saw him named Metro’s NAB AFL Under 18s MVP.

Some of his eye-catching performances included 19 disposals, seven marks and six rebound 50s in a narrow loss to the Allies and 15 disposals, seven marks (three contested) and a goal against Vic Country.

The defender was twice named in Metro’s best players during the championship.

McAsey has played three games with the Sandringham Dragons in the NAB League this season, after playing six games in the TAC Cup last year.
