There are exciting things on the horizon at Highett.
The Doggies are looking to build on their 2018 successes, with two of their four standalone sides winning flags and another premiership won from three grand final appearances in merged teams with Cheltenham.
The club will make use of the newly redeveloped RSEA Park in 2019, with their Auskick program hosting monthly sessions at the home of St Kilda. The season launch of the Auskick and Modified Rules programs will be held at RSEA Park on Saturday 6 April from 12pm till 1.15pm. Expert coaches will be on hand to run some fun games and drills, meet the St Kilda mascot plus plenty of Saints prizes and giveaways.
President Jason McGrath said the club was also excited by the redevelopment of Highett’s facilities at Turner Road.
“It’s a busy time for the club. We’re thrilled that our facilities are getting a significant makeover and we will utilise three full-size ovals for training and games this season, including night games for all ages,” he said.
“As one of the smaller clubs we have a very family friendly culture with the focus firmly on kids enjoying their footy. We have a team of very passionate volunteer coaches and the space to allow them to run fun training sessions that cater to the development needs of all kids.”
Highett are also hosting an all-ages community fun day at Highett Reserve from 4pm on Sunday 24 March. There will be fun games run by Highett coaches with plenty of prizes and giveaways, a sausage sizzle and of course the opportunity to register with the Bulldogs in 2019.
